BOUNDARIES:

The boundaries of Newport Shores are defined by Newport Shores Drive, Canal Street and Canal Circle to the north and by 62nd and 61st Street.

Frank H. Ayres and Sons Construction were responsible for most of the building in the community.

   

FEATURES:

Residents have easy access and use of the Newport Shores Community Shores Clubhouse, including two pools and tennis courts.

Newport Shores is a caring, close knit community, which is 90 percent owner occupied. It’s a good place for families and children. Most of the sales are from one house to another in the Shores, which says a lot for the neighborhood.

Newport Shores holds a number of community activities each year, including a 4th of July bike parade and an annual tennis tournament.

Additional features include the city built Newport Shores Park, and the natural preserve. Built by the Army Corps of Engineers, this estuary where the Santa Ana River meets the Pacifio Ocean is home to a variety of birds and wildlife.

   

SCHOOLS:

Children attend either Newport Elementary, Ensign Junior High or Newport Harbor High School.

   

SHOPPING:

Newport Shores is walking distance to a number of stores and restaurants. More extensive shopping can be found on 17th Street a short drive away.
