STYLE: |
Some eastside homes date back to the ‘20’s
and ‘30s. Their unique character and charm are reflected
in Old California Spanish designs with flat roofs and tile
shingles. The second phase of homes, built in the ‘40s
and ‘50s following World War II, were constructed for
returning GI’s and their families. The two-and three-bedroom
homes were made of lathe and plaster, with hardwood floors
and one bath. This type of home is the essence of the eastside,
and lends itself very well to remodeling or adding on. |
