CAMEO HIGHLANDS

BOUNDARIES:

A terraced family neighborhood on the southern edge of Corona del Mar.

   

HOMES:

The 142 single-family homes were built on 40 acres in the 1960’s by Macco & Sunny Homes. There are ten floor plans. Many of the homes have been remodeled and square footage added.

   

STYLE:

Terraced streets with ocean views. View restrictions of single-story homes only.

   

HISTORY:

In 1958, developers purchased land for Cameo Highlands and spent $1 million dollars on the development. Community streets were named after the Scottish heritage of the main builder. The majority of the Highlands construction was done by John McCloud under the name of Tartan Homes.

   

COMMUNITY FEATURES:

Parks with playground equipment and direct private access to four beaches, each beautiful and special in its own distinctive way.

Harbor View Elementary, Corona del Mar Junior High and Corona del Mar High School.
